About Savannah Flooring Company
We have installed flooring across Savannah and Chatham County for over 50 years. That covers historic properties downtown, the island communities east and southeast, and slab-on-grade construction west of the city. Each of those presents a genuinely different technical problem, which is why we assess every property individually.
We are a service area business rather than a showroom operation. We come to your property, measure every room, and assess what sits underneath the existing floor. Samples are viewed in your own light, which matters considerably more than most people expect.
The single thing that distinguishes us is that we do not subcontract installation. The crew that measures your project is the crew that completes it. Subcontracted labor is where the overwhelming majority of flooring complaints genuinely originate, and that is true across the whole trade.
We quote one written figure covering material, labor, subfloor preparation, and disposal of the existing floor. That number does not move unless demolition uncovers structural damage nobody could reasonably have anticipated. If that happens we stop and show you before pricing anything.
We are licensed & insured throughout Georgia and provide current certificates whenever they are requested. Gated communities and commercial property managers routinely require them in advance of any access. Tell us early which association governs your property and we handle that paperwork entirely.

Most flooring disappointments trace back to three things. A price that moved afterward, a crew nobody recognized, and a specification chosen to suit the seller rather than the property. We have built our entire method around eliminating all three of them, and the three blocks below explain exactly how.
One Crew, Start to Finish
We never subcontract installation to anybody, and that is the most important thing on this page. The people who measure your property are the people who install the floor. You are never handed over to a crew you have not previously met on the first morning.
That continuity matters practically rather than sentimentally. Whoever assessed your subfloor already knows where it dips and where the joists run. Nothing whatsoever gets lost in a handover between a salesperson and an installer who never actually spoke to each other.
One Written Price
You receive a single written figure covering material, labor, subfloor preparation, and removal of the existing floor. Not a per-square-foot headline with the preparation added later, once the room is already torn up and you have no realistic alternative left.
The figure holds through completion. The only thing that changes it is structural damage underneath that nobody could reasonably have seen beforehand. We stop immediately, show you the problem, and price the remediation properly before continuing any further with the installation.
Specification Before Selling
We test slab moisture, inspect crawl spaces, and measure remaining board thickness before recommending anything. Those readings determine the specification rather than whatever we happen to have available. Occasionally the honest answer is that you need less work than you expected.
We will tell you when a targeted repair beats an entirely new floor, and when a sound floor is better left alone. Both of those conversations mean a considerably smaller project for us, and both of them remain entirely the right advice to give.
What We Install
We fit every major flooring category rather than pushing a single manufacturer, because the correct answer genuinely changes from room to room. A coastal market narrows the options in ways an inland one does not, and we are direct about that.
Wood Flooring
Solid hardwood remains the traditional choice and can be sanded repeatedly across several decades. It belongs above grade in a controlled interior climate. Over a concrete slab or a persistently damp crawl space it will cup.
Engineered wood is what we specify most often for timber across the islands. Its cross-laminated core neutralizes the seasonal movement that coastal humidity drives straight through solid boards.
Resilient, Tile, and Carpet
Luxury vinyl plank is genuinely waterproof and handles kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, and flood zone ground floors without any difficulty. The rigid core simply does not swell when water sits on it. Laminate resists scratching better than most wood but does not tolerate standing water at all.
Porcelain tile is the most durable floor we install and the least affected by moisture. Carpet remains the right answer in bedrooms and on stairs, for warmth underfoot and quiet.
Restoration and Commercial
A great deal of our work is recovering original heart pine and oak rather than replacing it. We also handle water damage and subfloor reconstruction, which coastal properties experience far more frequently than inland ones. Humidity and storm exposure account for most of that difference.
Commercial flooring runs on phasing as much as specification, so we phase the installation around your actual trading hours rather than around ours. We install kitchen and bathroom cabinetry alongside flooring, sequenced so the two finish correctly together.

Licensing, Insurance, and Paperwork
None of this is exciting and all of it matters. Gated communities and commercial properties frequently make documentation a condition of access.
Licensed and Insured
We are licensed & insured to work throughout Georgia, and we carry that coverage on every single project regardless of its size or duration. Current certificates are provided whenever they are requested, before work commences rather than retrospectively once somebody chases them.
Associations and Property Managers
Gated communities frequently require certificates, vehicle registration, and crew names filed in advance. We handle that administration before the first day rather than negotiating at a gatehouse. Tell us early which association governs your property and we deal with it.
Hours and Availability
Our office hours are Mon to Thu 8am to 5pm, Fri 8am to 12pm. We reply to inquiries the same working day, and requests arriving outside those hours get a call the next working morning. Commercial projects can be scheduled overnight or at weekends where phasing requires it.
